"A Stir of bones" by Nina Kiriki Hoffman.

First read: 2005.
Notes: It's a lovely story, darker than "A fistful of sky" in a way because it's the story of an abused child but lighter too because this child is way younger then Gypsum and the imaginery is more innocent.
